Government licensure requirements and burdensome overregulation create barriers for many people trying to earn a living. Excessive regulation, complex licensure requirements, and fees can create unnecessary hurdles that harm individuals and businesses. Requiring unnecessary licenses and compliance with bureaucratic rules stifles the economy and hurts individuals seeking to work.
The “Less is More Act of 2025” cuts unnecessary government red tape by reducing certain professional licensure requirements and streamlining government boards. This bill will increase Tennesseans’ right to work with less government interference and make government more efficient.
STATUS UPDATE: The bill has been filed as HB 1330 (Lamberth) /SB 1316 (Johnson) for the 2025 General Assembly.
